My Personal Philosophy, Beliefs, Views
On Religion, etc...

First of all I'd like to set something straight.  Some people wonder whether I'm a Christian, after all I was raised in a strict Christian home.  I'm not.  I'm not an aethiest either.  I'm a deist.  In other words, I strongly believe in the existence of God, I just don't believe in any one particular religion.  I don't find the close minded or restrictive thinking advocated by some religions very appealing.  I think everyone has to find their own personal truth and way to God.  One should never be forced to believe anything.  You have to follow your heart.  God has instilled in most of us a longing to do what is right.  I try to combine this with a strong effort to always be honest, and follow the Golden Rule.  This is how I try to live my life.  This link goes to a portion of an email that I sent my good friend Angie Evans.  It fairly accurately portrays why I respect Christians and what they believe but why I don't follow this religion myself.

I'm also part of a science, religion, and philosophy club called the Newton Circle at Western Oregon University.  If a web page gets created for this club I'll be sure and include a link here.
